So Much To Be Thankful For...

As I am typing, I am so thankful to have this little one sitting next to me...
And these two...

I am also thankful for my wonderful husband and the rest of my family.  The past year would have been so hard without the best mom in the world always there for me.  I love you!!  So happy everyone is in good health and good spirits!

Hope everyone has a fabulous thanksgiving and remembers to be grateful for all of the little things in our lives as well as the obvious things to be thankful for!  We are all so blessed!

3 Months and 7 days!!

Three months and 7 days...that's how old our sweet boy is today!  In the past month Bryson has grown so much!

Here are a few highlights from the past month:
  • He's discovered his hands and has figured out that he can grab things.  He can grab hold of his blankie and tries like crazy to grab his pacifier when it falls out!
  • We survived our first cold : (
  • He loves to smile and laugh!  Bryson is always so happy in the morning!  He will lay in his crib and kick his legs and coo.  His smile melts my heart!
  • Daycare must be so much fun, because he comes home exhausted every day!
  • He doesn't sleep through the night just yet, but we're getting there!

Being a mom to truly the best gift I have ever been given.  It is amazing to watch him learn new things and develop his personality (I think he is going to have my temper : / ) and it is equally amazing to just watch him sleep!

Life As We Know It

So much has changed in the last two and half months!
Here are a few happenings since Bryson's one month birthday.

He seems to grow overnight!  In the last few weeks he finally has gotten out of newborn size diapers and is slowly graduating to the 0-3 month size clothes...most of them still look pretty silly because they just swallow him in width!

This past week was Bryson's first week of daycare and we all survived!  Steven and I laugh every time we walk in the ladies at the front desk say (in a really high pitched daycare worker voice) "We just love Bryson!!"  They say when he is not sleeping he just plays and laughs and is such a sweet boy.  On day 3, one of teachers told me that she wasnt sure why but our little one already has her wrapped around his finger.   It is comforting to know that our sweet boy is in such loving hands when we are not able to be at home with.
A few funny things about daycare:
  • Picture day is next week! This really made me laugh.  I am curious to see what this entails.  I guess I should pay more attention to the clothes I throw in his bag that day so he doesn't end up wearing a striped onesie and camo pants for a picture.  And yes, that is what he was wearing when I picked him up one day!  Oh well, he was oblivious to his mismatched attire.
  • On Friday, Steven came up with this form we have to fill out and return with two photos of Bryson for the bulletin board...its seemed a little comical to fill out for a 2 month old.  Here is a sample of the questions:
    • What is your nickname?
    • What are your pets names?
    • What is your favorite food?
    • What are your hobbies?
The hobbies question I thought was funny.  Can staring at the ceiling fan be considered a hobby?  Bryson loves to watch the fan while it is on high!  Overall, the daycare experience has been a positive one, we will see how it goes has he gets a little older.

Last weekend we took Bryson to visit his Pawpaw, great grandparents, and lots of great aunts and uncles.  We had a great trip, but it is was too fast.  Since I've only been back to work for a few weeks I don't have any time that I can take off so we can't leave until pretty late on Fridays.  Oh well, it was still worth it...and we can't wait until we can go back for another visit!

That about somes up our October so far!  There is much more in store for the month, starting with Bryson's baptism next Sunday...so stay tuned!

In other non baby related news, we are thinking of biting the bullet and putting our house up for sale.  But after looking at houses in Tyler, and having absolutely no luck finding a decent paying job for me that would not bore me too tears...we really are not sold on the idea just yet.  If its meant to be then it will work out somehow, just maybe not what we had pictured...but that's life, right?

And everyone loves baby pictures...so here are a few now ones.

One Month Old!!

So I'm a few days late...Bryson is now one month old! It seems like the past month as flown by!  The last month has definitely been a learning experience as I am sure the next few months will be as well.  Taking care of new baby 24/7 is exhausting but it is so fun to watch them learn and grow!

Here are few things Bryson can do now that he is a month old!
  • He is really good at lifting is head! When we put him on our shoulder he really pulls it up and tries to move his head from side to side!
  • "Tummy Time" is not so much fun.  He hates so much, he turns into superman and rolls over to his back!!
  • Bryson's first real bath in the baby bath tub was on 8/28 and he did not cry at all, we were quite impressed!
  • He has really strong hands and when he grabs hold of something he does not want to let go (I think I have already had some hair pulled out because of those little hands!)
  • He has got to be the noisiest baby I have ever known!  He is constantly grunting and groaning as he stretches, which he does all the time!  It is pretty funny when he starts doing this in his sleep, it makes you wonder what he is dreaming about.
Bryson has been so much fun and we are excited to watch him learning and grow in these first few months!

Here are some one month pictures.

Welcome

Welcome to our new family blog!  I figured I would jump on the bandwagon and create a blog to share our beautiful baby with all of our family and friends who we don't get to see often.
